Barrikade coating and coating methods for outdoor use.

Barrikade® is a Norwegian natural stone coating for outdoor use. Applications include, for example, courtyards, driveways, streets, carports, parks, courtyards of schools, hospitals, hotels, office buildings, etc. The coating is usually mounted on a hard surface such as concrete or asphalt. Barrikade coatings are always installed completely by hand. Withstands winter maintenance. There are already dozens of locations in Finland using Barrikade.

Depending on the subject, installation thickness is 12-18mm.

Water-permeable, flattened (smooth) surface.

Organic Lock

HOW DOES IT WORK
The binder is activated by water and resists erosion and keeps the stone material in place while passing the water through. When water passes through a stone dust, it is absorbed by Organic-Lock and forms a gel that surrounds the particles of stone dust. The gel expands and keeps the stone bead particles in place, which significantly reduces erosion. When the gel reaches its maximum expansion volume, it is no longer able to absorb water. The excess water then passes directly through the surface layer to the structural layers. Over time, the gel releases the bound water by evaporation and releasing it to the bottom layers. This way it charges and prepares for the next rain.
ASH STONE MATERIAL
The quality of the stone ash mixed with Organic-Lock affects the strength of the mixture. The gel works best naturally among the hard-sealing multi-particle particles. Such a multipurpose mixture creates an optimal surface. Only stone-based materials suitable for the optimal grain size distribution of Envirobond are approved for use with Organic-Lock after the test process. With a good multi-particle size distribution, the stone raw material together with Organic-Lock creates a long lasting surface suitable for a wide range of traffic.
A NATURAL BINDER
Organic-Lock is the result of more than ten years of research and development collaboration with the University of Guelph and Agriculture Canada. Precise and demanding laboratory work led through our science to our patented product recipe. The main goal of our development work has been to develop a durable and stable organic binder that is not only resistant to erosion but also water permeable. The result of this work is Organic-Lock, the strongest organic binder on the market.

FESCOLOCK
FescoLock is an Organic-Lock based paving seam sand. Thanks to Organic-Lock, FescoLock stays in the seam and does not rinse off, thus preventing vegetation from forming in the seams. Easy to install, significantly reduces strain maintenance. See also FescoPath passage material.
